How the other half life last night: what an uplifting heartwarming episode. I liked both families a lot - the 'poor' ones (hate to use that term, but can't remember their surname, not as memorable as Balls...!) spent their money wisely - enough to change their lives for the better. All 3 kids were deserving, both parents were sensible and likeable.
As for the Balls' - they had experienced the hard times themselves, were not snooty in the least, the kids were great (budding romance there between those two??!!).
A lovely episode to end on. Thank you channel 4.

I agree entirely Salla, it was great that they featured a family, from a large council estate, with lovely well behaved children and moral, hardworking parents. Similarly, the better off family were very grounded and their daughter was smashing.
Yes, I thought there was definitely a spark between those two!
Just goes to show that it is possible to bring up children properly despite living in less than ideal circumstances.
I wish the family luck in their new life and hope that other better off people will decide to give a helping hand to someone after seeing this series.
