Loreal preference hair colour 8.3 or 8.31

I regularly colour my hair with Loreal preference 8.3 Yesterday Boots did not have it and I bought 8.31 Assistant said might be slightly darker or lighter but I can find no information anywhere. Can anyone advise please I am reluctant to use if darker but lighter would be OK

As they are both "8"s they should be the same depth of colour. My guess is that the extra "1" makes it slightly more of an ash colour than your usual one.x

8.31 looks a lot darker than 8.3 does when I googled them.

Thanks Daffy and Katie. I spent some time 'googling but didn't find shade guide one link named golden brown not blond so a bit concerned. However local Tesco did not have 8.3 either so going ahead ' fingers crossed' Hope the ash is very slight as find this too close to grey I am trying to eliminate! Will let you know result

Used 8.31 yesterday not a major disaster but not up to usual standard either - must make sure to get in supply of 8.3 before next month. Having for many years had colour done at hairdressers - got too expensive - tried various shades before settling on 8.3. Ash tones to grey
