I am trying to remember the name of the things that special forces use to stun large groups of "criminals" in one go (often seen on NCIS or Hawaii five-0).
They are canisters that get chucked into buildings and release smoke/ loud noises/ flashes of light prior to the teams entering.

If no one can answer the Q can you at least point me to a better topic area in which to post it!

Yes! They're stun grenades, also known as flashbangs. Flashbangs was the name I was thinking of though. :)

Thank you clever people of AB. :)

All my interrogation training comes from NCIS. Slamming hands on tables and chucking folders at suspects with pictures of dead guys in them always seems to break them. I could be Gibbs' partner. :P
I could join the police and become a DCI in no time. Hahahahaaaaa!
