Such good acting from Kat and Alfie, and that baby is so cute. But when they were told at the hospital that the babys blood group didn't match James blood group, I did wonder why babies blood would be tested after birth. I certainly don't remember my babies being tested.

I don't remember mine getting done either but maybe they just had to make up something to get it all over and done with.

Thats what I thought - a dna test would have taken longer.
I always thought all babys were tested after birth
I'm not particularly keen on babies, but the one they were using yesterday (and today)was very sweet - I wonder how many babies they use for such a long drawn out role - does anyone know?
And more to the point, do the right babies get given back to the right mothers :)
My baby's blood group was tested straight after birth......it was given on her birth details card.
I remember my children having a blood group test, it was years ago now, but I know that I was given their blood groups!.....
My children `s blood was tested & th was in the 70`s.
Most babies have the 'heel-prick' test for PKU and other conditions..........I certainly was never told anything about my son's blood other than that he was clear of anything likely to show up.
The info was put on the card mums had during ante & post-natal examinations. All baby`s info was put on it.
BTW 5 babies play Tommy/James in Enders.
They certainly didn't take my baby's blood when she was born, I had to ask when she was about 6yrs cos I think it is important to know these things, and as I'm 0 negative I needed to know for her sake!
My baby was born in 1970 and her blood group was on her hospital discharge card along with her length and weight etc.
I thought they had always done the heel prick to test for PKU...

I only found out that not all counties do when my nephews test came back positive...
My baby was born in a private clinic in Ibiza and she didn't have that PKU test either, bear in mind that we had to pay for absolutely everything that was used, even water!!
