I watched the first episode, decided I didn't like it, missed the second episode, saw bits of the t hird episode and was it more interesting than the first episiode, t hen missed the last one!!
She 'lost' the baby (with a little help via 2 toxic douches and one leap down the stairs). The insane wife was found washed up & rotten on the shores of some beach. Mr Wickham went off Sugar, went off the rails a bit and then was going to ask some other rich stuck-up prim 'lady' to be his next wife. Sugar took the little girl Sophie and ran away with her.
Hi sallabananas, I have watched the first & second episodes & have yet to watch the final which I have recorded,I think it has been an excellent series, doesn't it just reflect the double standards of the male population at that time when women were regarded as just being there for procreation & sexual gratification.Ron.
I loved the book - I first read it about 4 or 5 years ago and thought it was fantastic. I must say that usually if I really love a book, then the film or tv series of it usually then disappoints. But this was a pretty good adaptation.
ah but salla, it wasn't the wife washed up. if you remember she cut all her hair off before she ran away to the convent. the body had long curly hair.....
first episode was a bit dark, enjoyed the next two but found last nights conclulding episode a bit of a let down. overall it was worth watching i thought.
did you recognise the prim lady as one of the teachers from waterloo road?
Well has it finished, I enjoyed it but couldn't understand it. In which episode did mrs rackham cut off her hair, I seem to have missed loads even though I have watched it all.
She cut it off in episode 3, and then Sugar gave her money and told her to get the train to the countryside and go to the nearest convent. I'm glad Sugar took the little girl..... that was how I wanted it to end!
I think I'm going to have to get the book. There is quite a lot of info I missed whilst watching it and it sort of gripped me enough to want to read and digest it more.
