so iv just had to go and buy 2 square cake tins as i only had round.. they are 21cm and 7cm deep. If im just making a sponge cake.. how many eggs should I use to make 2 nice size cakes (to have side by side as apposed to on top of each other) (or do they need to be sandwiched?) Also they are heavy gauge with reinforced non stick.. do I still need to butter it and grease proof it.?? Sorry for all the questions.. beginning to think it would of been easier/ quicker/ cheaper to just buy one!!! oh the things we do for our little ones!!!
Also what ... more simplified ... this recipe for a 'round' cake tin requires 2 x 21cm tins ... just make one extra quantity of the cake mix & add a little of it to each of the tins on top of the existing quantiy for each tin.. perhaps till each tin is half full? http://www.godine.co....og/sponge-cake-recipe
Hi again what ... I was referring to my very last post. I'm thinking those amounts wont be enough to fill a 7cm deep tin. If it were me I would make multiples of the mixture up till I filled the both tins to half way mark ... though the baking times would be out? I would lower the temperature and just keep checking for firmness ( insert a skewer ) & make sure it comes out clean. Dont you just wish you bought one now ;0)
