Weird Series of Adverts, mid-80s

I remember a series of very dark and weird adverts that showed on TV for a while in the mid-80s but haven't a clue exactly what they were advertizing... Each of these commercials featured a black, darkened screen and there would be the sound of mumbling, echoed voices as well as random things/people appearing on the screen and changing or transforming in some way... I remember a man in a shirt changing into a werewolf-like creature, then later in the same advert there was the sound of a scared little girl's voice and a man's voice answering "Oh, sorry Laura"... Another of these adverts began with a little boy pulsating with some kind of energy, then an old woman came over to him and touched him, and immediately after touching him she turned into stone... Does anyone remember these, and what were they advertizing?

That's exactly the answer I was expecting, given that's what most people say when I tell them... But I know for sure I remember seeing these adverts so someone else has gotta remember them! One other person has said they 'ring a bell' so someone must remember these somewhere...
Judging by the time you posted the question and your use of the word "gotta", I am wondering whether you are in the US of A. If so, maybe these ads didn't appear in the UK and as most AB users are in the UK you may not get an answer here. Good luck anyway
Wasn't for Twin Peaks was it?
Ah, maybe. There was Laura's theme song relating to Twin Peaks

I'm in the UK! These adverts were some years before Twin Peaks, around 1986 or so, and I've seen most of Twin Peaks anyway so I'd know if they were for that. I'm pretty sure they weren't a trailer as I'd have registered that, they didn't really seem like a trailer... I suspect they were tongue-in-cheek and advertising a food or drink product of some sort, I've also had the suggestion they could have been PIFs for AIDS/HIV, which tended to be weird back in the 80s. I'm not sure if they were the latter but wouldn't rule it out.
Didn't Guiness put out some way out ads in their time??

Never understood the majority of them then or now
I have a slight memory of people viewed normally, then viewed through a vodka bottle, which showed their true personalities. A man appeared as a wolf in that. Maybe it was Smirnoff?
Question Author
That may be right, I wouldn't be surprised if these ads were for an alcoholic drink of some sort. I'll do a search on both Guinness and Smirnoff and see what I can find, that's probably the best suggestion yet. I'll post here if I find out anything for sure. Cheers :)
