Jeff Stelling and Countdown

Apparently the production team on Countdown have decided not to keep Jeff Stelling on since changing his mind about quitting. They say they've had so many applications from "talent and agents" that they've decided it's time for a change! <sigh>

Personally I think he was the best since Richard Whiteley so will be sad to see him go if they stick to their guns. Such a shame when he decided to stay but I guess they think he messed them about and that is it.

I thought he left because of the travelling up to Leeds or wherever they film it during the week and then coming down to London for the football programme on the Saturday.

I seem to recall that the travelling was why Des Lyneham stopped doing it as well.

I only watch it because of Jeff and Rachel,they are making a big mistake,Channel 4.
