I am fairly sure that the caution that was administered to Bates when he was arrested did not exist in that form then.
The phrase 'written out' has been around for years.

People have been 'written out' of wills since wills have been around.
"as if", "get knotted", "logic pills" and "shafted" are other words/phrases that have been used but weren't around in the intended era
I notice that only the two baddies (Miss O"Brien and Thomas) are smokers - just like today - whereas at that time cigarettes were becoming very popular, especially with ex-Army personnel.
I've not really watched it before but saw the final episode last night and noticed someone dismiss an idea with the the comment "...how does that work, then" . It sounded like something a stand-up comedian says nowadays. Whilst I'm sure people asked how things worked in those days but I'd be very surprised if the phrase was used in this sense in that era. But I'm happy to be convinced otherwise....
I believe the daughter of a lord marries a chauffeur. That's probably the biggest no no of the lot.

Did Mrs Hughes look into the camera after answering his Lordship`s question about which maid had gone down with the flu?
all those listed, but we like it really, i love Hugh Bonneville, he is so good as his Lordship. Did think cora would kick the bucket, but i guess it had to be Lavinia as that leave the way for matthew and mary, eventually
I'd read there was to be a bit of a cull due to the Spanish flu. I expected Cora to go, she seems a very odd character, though the aristos at that time married rich Americans, a kind of cash for honours of its day.
