..this must be the way to go...
This morning I had BT Infinity installed. It took the BT Outreach engineer nearly three hours for the complete installation. He had to run a new cable from the main phone socket in my front porch outside all around my house and up to the second floor and into the back bedroom where I have my computer. Then there's all the wiring connecting stuff and the end result is a download speed of 36.5mb instead of 1.5mb...and the whole lot is just £5 a month more than before.. absolutely brilliant.btw..we haven't got cable round these parts and I don't want Sky....
BT's newest broadband Jno. According to Mr Boo it's supposed to be all singing all dancing, so far though, im largely unimpressed, it's not made the teas like i was expecting it to ;-)
oh, right, thanks, B00. We used to have Virgin broadband but it slowed to a crawl after they 'upgraded' it, so on the advice of our Bulgarian computer repairman we switched to Sky. He lives over the road and had just done the same thing for the same reason. It's been fine ever since, touch wood. (It's in a package with our Sky TV, which we inherited when jno jnr moved out.) Does Infinity actually have anything so whizbang that I should be thinking about changing again?
to be honest jno, I dunno, Mr Boo does all the technical stuff, and can wrap his head round them, I just wanna be able to switch on and be good to go, lol.
Me too, my ordinary BT Broadband does us fine. They tried to flog me BT Vision - but we don't want all those extras, we too are happy with what we've got.
I have Virgin cable broadband and just upgraded to the 100mb package. We get regular speeds of 97.5 mb download and 9.5mb upload. Its great for online gaming when there are several gamers in the house :)
