David Walliams Thames swim

Did anyone see him last night, swimmming 140 miles along the Thames for Sports Relief. What a fantastic programme. I just dont know how he did 8 days of solid swimming. What a great fundraiser he is. I believe he raised over £1m,. My son does open water swimming in London and says how awful it is to swim in the Thames or a lake.

Im hoping to Run a mile for sport relief soon and it makes my effort look very small.

Has he done this twice? As I'm sure i remember this from last year?

He swam the english channel last year I think BOO. Great man. He inspires me anyhow

Didn't DW nearly die from some awful disease caught from swimming the Thames?

Was a bit baffled as I knew SR was coming up, but I thought I knew he did this last year. Wonder why the big gap between the 2 events?

oh and yes, apologies, good luck TOH, nice thing you're doing. I couldn't do it, i couldn't run 10 yards without wheezing and needing to sit down for a fag!

yes Alba, he had severe stomach upset and Diahr.. (sh.ts) not good when you are in a wetsuit :>) and should really have taken it easy. I think there was bacteria in the water where he was swimming

Just to clear this up ...

to raise awareness in the run up to this year's Sport Relief they showed a film about DW's swim along The Thames <last year> 2011

He swam the Channel in 2006 and The Straits of Gibraltar in 2008
