Do others remember this series, some good actors have appeared in this, like Tim Robbins,Denzel Washington,Bruce Paltrow who also directed, and the wonderful Doris Roberts the matriarch from everyone loves raymond, was playing a down and out last night, i am sure that Mark Harmon from ncis, also starred in this show,i loved this show
I also loved this show, the theme music was brilliant too. I think Mark Harmon's character died of Aids, the first real handling of this topic in a mainstream series.
I loved Hill Street Blues. There was a few US programmes that I enjoyed Soap was one of them, that must have been 30 odd years ago. And the Golden Girls. I only watched a few episodes of St Elsewhere.
I just loved both St Elsewhere and Hill Street Blues. I was once in hospital and my then boss visited (with his wife) and brought me a copy of Playgirl with Mark Harmon as centrefold. Cheered me up more than the grapes!
Hill Street Blues was top of the programmes that we watched. The very first multi cast drama, which set the bar for other programmes like it, such as
LAPD Blue. I never missed an episode of HSB, and even followed it a few years ago when they showed some of it again.
I loved it who played Mrs Hufflenaker the patient who insulted everyone and called one junior doctor "fatso" and then when she died [ she got entangled in her hospital bed] she left her money to him. Also liked Ed Begley jnr the blond one who played a right wally in the series.
