I suspect that he is leaving as he knows that the Beeb will lose coverage of F1 and he needs to secure a long term job. I also suspect that the travelling involved is very draining and whats the betting that he and his girlfriend start a family soon.
I dont think we need to consider replacements, just a sky TV package. And if that gets rid of Eddie Jorden so much the better

Shame he's leaving, always enjoyed his coverage. DC has taken to media very well IMHO and he handled the swearing on last weeks podium with great tact and skill. I hope DC takes over the role as anchorman and we get a little more insight from the highly knowledgable Gary Anderson. He always provides so much inof on the technical side of things.
I've grown up with Jake on the tv and I will definitely miss him after this season finishes. I think his choice to leave was mainly down to family (his wife Harriet is pregnant atm).
DC is totally coming into himself and would love for him to become the main presenter but I think that they should still have space for someone more youthful. Even though he is being tipped to drive again next year, I think that Jaime Alguersuari would have had a fair crack at it.
