Mastermind - Rachael Neiman

I was surprised to see Rachael Neiman, the blind postgraduate student from Manchester, appearing on University Challenge again tonight. It is only two years since she competed on this programme previously.

Are contestants able to appear more than once? If so, I would be technically possible for someone to win the title of Mastermind several times.

We only get UC on a Monday here. I think it was 2 oxbridge teams this week.

They have been so desperate for contestants in the last few years that previous contestants are allowed to re-apply after a couple of years, though winners aren't. My mate (and pairs partner in the European Quizzing Championships in Estonia last weekend) came third in 2009 but is back in again this year...

A friend of mine has been on 3 times in about 7 years . I played against her twice on Today's the Day and beat her both times . I must say she was very good but I cannot even get up to the interview stage for mastermind. Mine you she has very photogenic.

I have only seen her on UC and the current series of Mastermind, I've not seen her on it before.
