Black Mirror... Series 2

I quite like look of black mirror on ch4 tonight but notice this is series 2. I checked back seeing that it aired 2011 but am little confused. Am I right in thinking there were 3 different stories in the last series. Are they linked or connected to current series or different story again, basically asking if I need to watch old series to know who characters are or can I just get straight into this series without looking back. It looks quite interesting & intriguing. Any reviews on old series, what did you think of it?

No need to watch the first three, they weren't even connected with each other.
I quite enjoyed the first three so will be tuning in again tonight.

i watched the first one and it was so weird i didn't see any of the others. It disturbed me so much!

The 2nd two were better. The first one wasn't very realistic.
