Buying Food/sweetstuffs
3 Answers
Have bought above particularly sweetstuffs - but then when I don't get visitors I eat the blooming stuff myself. Now if I knew I wasn't get any kind of company believe you me I wouln't buy so much sweet stuff. How can I get around of not eating what is there - I think tonight I have a turkish delight - bounty bar- twix - not in a million years if it wasn't there I would not eat it - Any body help me to overcome this problem - cos I am not a really sweet person - sweet-eating person per se. Thanks - I have tried to hide them but out them come because I am on my own - but when friends call - dont you think yourself miserable if you haven't got a measley biscuit to give them. We in NI do present biscuits blah blah - I am sorry to say but I have seen English visitors just get presented with a cuppa - hope that doesn't offend.

If you want to keep sweet stuff in just in case, why not get something healthier, say a box of Slimming World cake fingers, instead of buying chocolate bars? If I were to give a biscuit, it would be just that, a bit of shortcake or a couple of Bourbons, not anything like a Mars bar or a commercial bit of confectionery (I find that a bit odd idea, most of our friends wouldn't eat sweets like that with a cup of tea, nor would we!)
Any visitors I have are friends or family and they are pretty much always expected. As such, they're usually coming for dinner or picky bits and wine so I'll have whats needed to do that.
On the random chance that someone came over that I wasn't expecting, they'd get the offer of a cup of tea or coffee, I wouldn't keep anything in the house just in case someone came over so I could offer them a biccy or something... frankly, they're lucky I let them in! :c)
