Having just watched Marchlands, I am still confused as to who Tom was? I finally managed to work out the rest of them, but Tom?

Do you mean Lightfields Neti? Tom was the farm hand, dark hair.
Question Author
sorry I mean Lightfields, that's how confused I am!!!
It didn't help matters that there were 3 different dramas being screened all at the same time, all with similar 2 syllable names - Broadchurch, Lightfields and Mayday. I found Broadchurch confusing too and half gave up on it.
Have to agree neti I found Lightfields very confusing and still don't know who was who. I found the era changes much harder to follow than Marchlands. Why was Pip so old in the middle era (60s?70s?) when he was just a boy in the war and as Lucy seemed to make her peace with him why did she still come back to the 80s era and harass the depressed mum?
Who is Pip in the 60's, now I'm confused. I am sort of enjoying this but think Marchlands was much easier to follow.
Sorry, mean 70's. He's a young lad during the war, the old grandad in the present but can't think for the middle era.
LOl have I been getting it the wrong way round all along. Was Pip the old man, the young boy who thought it was the tooth fairy & Kris Marshall from the most recent era? That explains a little!
Question Author
Didn't think Pip was in the 70's one cos i was confused about how much younger the girl was to him when there was only about 4/5 yrs difference but then I was comparing her in the 70's to him in 2013. Very very confusing!

So if Tom didn't mean to kill anyone so why throw his lighter in the hay barn or was he jealous, please someone clear it up for me.
Question Author
No Pip was the young boy in the 40's wasn't in the 70's and was the old man in 2013. Kris Marshal was his dead granddaughter's husband and the young lad was his great grandson.

I thought both Eve and Lucy looked evil .
Question Author
Prudie, apparently the dead Lucy came back to haunt the author in the 70's to make her remember the fire cos she had blocked it out, and the dead Lucy wanted it cleared up, or have I got it wrong?
I think you're right neti, can't believe I got the 2 later eras the wrong way round! So who and what was the relevance of the older woman (Vivien?) who turned up late in the final episode to stay at Lightfields and told Pip that Lucy didn't blame him?
Question Author
The older woman was the author from the 70's who was also pip's young friend in the 40's (I know I know!!) and she had to remember it all (which was why Lucy was haunting her) so she couls tell Pip it wasn't his fault!
Thanks goodness some of you were paying attention. I could not work out who the late arrival was, she spoke her name too quickly to catch. I do think these 3 stories in one show are too gimmiky. Although I watched them all, I could not tell you anyone's name.
wasn't it nice of Lucy to wait about 70 years to put her innocent brother out of his misery?
I agree thank heavens Neti cleared some things up for me. I followed Marchlands pretty well but this one was very confusing. And Yes Lucy was pretty mean along the way in her efforts to ease her brother extremely belatedly.
