Help...uk Tv Program Sit Com

I am trying to remember a recent TV sitcom, it was based around a family, two boys one girl, father was a teacher, i remember once episode where a bird flew into the kitchen and another where they had a German exchange student stay with them. The eldest son fancied the older girl across the road.
