I think the bloke was one of the Muslim brotherhood, good that he was encouraging him to sort things out with his mum. Could be wrong though...
No, the vicar went to Scotland. She was distraught and that's why she told gav she wouldn't be visiting him again, she realised she'd been babying him and not making him take responsibility for his actions....well, that's how I understood it.

I thought they tied it all together quite nicely. Gavin was finally allowed into the Muslim brotherhood, and the vicar went up to the lake district to stay with his friend - leaving Gavin's Mother to get on with her life, and away from the prison.
I couldn't believe it when Paul got his son involved in that deal to rescue the daughter!
Excellent series, just gutted it's now finished.
