I have an ipod shuffle which is quite old. I'm very happy with it but it is completely random in what it plays, I have no control. Can I just check, do the new generations (2012) still work the same way ie totally random playlist?
I think there used to be a switch on the side of the shuffle to make it play in a random order. Flick the switch and it should play in the same order as on the iTunes playlist.
Which model iPod? The white one with a removable end cap that hides the USB connector? If so, there is a slider on the back: one setting is 'random play'.
It's probably the original 2010 version, there are no sliders or hidden buttons just the input socket, on/off slider and a button that will tell you which track is playing. So I'm assuming the newer ones do have a play in order option?
There are so many models, that 'probably 2010 model' (which isn't the original Shuffle) doesn't really help. The following link shows links to user manuals for every Shuffle produced:
Snags, how come you are so brilliant? You are so witty and know about so many things. I read your posts you know :) and I always say to myself - this is one bright 'boy'.
