I think he and Rita are partners in the shop. But his wife was called Angela not myrtle, as was mentioned in an episode last week

I don't really think he wants the house. He's just feeling insecure and wants to know that he'll not be kicked out. Of course Emily will keep him on tenterhooks for a while.

Yes, he gets on my nerves cupid. He owns the shop outright, bought it off Rita, but you'd think it was still hers at times ! And, yes, I'd like to smack him at times too, especially when he told Emily that box set was from him.
