The storyline of Tommy leaving so quickly and Tina's reaction didn't ring true. Also the constant pairing of her and Peter isn't believable. Not corrie's best writing.

I had totally forgotten about Tommy's dismissal. It's obvious that it was written in a hurry. Totally unbelievable.

He wore a scary mask and sang some very violent, nasty songs featuring rape and general hatred towards women and uploaded them to YouTube.
He was using a pseudonym at the time so I still think he was sacked unfairly

I still think that the writers should have come up with something more believable. Also, that feud between Tina and Tracey is daft. Tina is behaving as if she's on something!

Tina has been teetering on the edge for some time - she had a major breakdown after her dad died, she was in serious financial trouble because of Tommy, she got confused about her feelings for the baby and all the stress of the whole surrogacy thing, her relationship with Tommy had been on/off and troubled as he didn't like the surrogacy thing.

I think she is at the end of her tether and heading for another breakdown.

I too, think Chris Fountain (Tommy) was sacked unfairly. I'm not saying I think it was ok for him to make those particular rap songs, in fact I hate rap songs with a passion, but I'm guessing he fancied himself as something of an Eminem and didn't realize the seriousness or indeed the ramifications of what he was doing. He perhaps should have been suspended but not sacked, but even if the only resolution was to sack him you'd have thought they'd let him remain long enough to write his character out of the show in a more convincing manner. The way things are going, there's going to be no one but the pigeons left in Corrie.

I agree, I think sacking Chris Fountain was OTT. Suspension for a few months would have sufficed.

But Tommy Duckworth wasn't the star of the show was he? he was very insipid. Tina is acting like a right Bunny Boiler, all that bullying David to reveal the truth, bossing everyone about.
