Loved the Lone Ranger programmes, when I was a child. When a few were resurrected on TV, for us to indulge in nostalgia, I was surprised how violent they were, people being shot all the time.
Never took to John Wayne films. Thought his best was the first one he ever got a credit in, which was Stagecoach. In that, he had little of his later image.

Yes, mallyh, quite so ! Every time I see Blazing Saddles, I notice something I'd missed e.g. Mel Brooks appears as a red indian chief, complete with magnificent feathered head- dress. On the band of that is what appears to be a traditional red indian design. When you look closely, it is not. It is Hebrew, and reads "Kosher for Passover"
