I agree boxtops. There's a limit to how many new or ridiculous storylines and unbelievable plots people are willing to stomach. I used to watch soaps a million years ago, but no more. Now it's just a case of same old same old.

what about Eastenders - just as bad, i think they are all boring, never mention real world situations or worry about the cost of household bills- politics and the like, always down the pub or eating out.

me too, janbee - corrie, EE and Emmerdale, but they all started copying each other and getting more and more unlikely stories. I can't be bothered with any of them now.

I used to like Corrie years ago, and Brookside before they replaced all the old characters with model-type actors.
Can't stand to watch any of them now.

They can't put a political slant in the programme due to regulations and they can't discuss current affairs because they are filmed so far in advance

I haven't watched Corrie and EE for ages as I found the storylines more and more far fetched. I still watch Emmerdale, although the ongoing story with Charity and Megan is getting boring! How long can one woman (Charity) cause so much trouble and keep getting away with it?
