I suspect Peter will realise there's nothing left for him in Weatherfield as I doubt Carla will want to go back to him, so he ups and leaves, just like that, like they always do in soaps !!

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that the wedding won't go ahead. Yes a highly unusual event, but the soap writers are always coming up with terrific new ideas to keep us on the edge of our seats.
