Why doesn't someone tell David Jason that it's about time he retired!
from the start I wondered why they used canned laughter, after a minute I knew why, after two minutes I couldn't care less and turned over channels. After the delights of Only Fools its so sad to see David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, (New Tricks) embarrassing themselves with inferior scripts.
I fear that every time each of them appears people will automatically think of Del Boy and Rodney and wonder where they went wrong!

I watched it but why is the script so exactly the same as when Ronnie Barker was in it.

I liked OAH at the time. It was a nice gentle humour but it should've been allowed to die with Ronnie Barker. It is never a good idea to try to do a remake of something. It sometimes, but rarely, works. As you say, the scripts are embarrassing and make me cringe.

Like it.... the stories are still fun and david jason is STILL brilliant as Granville. mavis and Granville .... will it ever happen
