hc4361 - //I used to like Sean but his character has become more and more exaggerated over time. Eye rolling, flouncing, facial expressions, sighing. He's morphing in to a scary blend of Frankie Howerd and Kenneth Williams. //
Indeed, his 'flamboyant' persona has become more exaggerated as time has gone on.
I remember Michael Caine giving a master class in acting for film and television and he pointed out the importance of micro-gestures, because the camera will pick up everything, and you have to reduce everything down to let the camera do its work.
It's the precise opposite of theatre, where everything has to be magnified to each the back row.
Sadly 'Sean' is not being advised to tone it down a little, and he is coming over as an exaggerated queen - which is sad considering that his character has been given proper depth to dispel the standard charicatures of gay men.
