As i understand it, there isn't a series as such. Just two two-hour episodes. That's not to say a series won't be commissioned if both episodes are well received and enough people have sufficient imagination to forget anything Rowan Atkinson has done before.
Enjoyed it even though I still seen a little bit of Mr Bean couldn't have watched if I hadn't Sky+ it as it was slow, but easy going and the atmosphere and costumes were great did think there might have a been a twist at the end.
I am looking forward to the next Maigret screened in the Summer. Hope it becomes a successful series.
I knew Rowan Atkinson could portray the part well somehow. I remember him in Full Throttle about the Bentley Boys and he played a good, serious, part there also.
I had recorded it and watched it last night while the awful Grantchester was being aired. Like most of the Maigret stories, the plot was a tad thin but the story was well acted by all. May have been one or two moments when i half expected Rowan Atkinson to morph into Blackadder (and inject a little humour into proceedings), but on the whole worth watching and i will definitely tune in/record the second 2 hour instalment whenever it is aired.
