It's also the inaugural date of a worldwide touring exhibit of scintillating collectibles formerly owned by Monroe that are slated to be auctioned this fall. One of the most important items is a diamond-encrusted Blancpain cocktail watch once owned by the late film star, which is expected to fetch between $80,000 and $120,000.

The vintage timepiece comes from the estate of Lee Strasberg, the famous acting coach, who was Monroe's mentor."

Does anyone know why men's watches have so much cluttering up the face of their watches. I saw a lovely one today which was ruined by the addition of three extra dials.

Frankie has arrived and it is time for bed, he usually locates himself in the middle and I have sleep around him. Merlin is in her furry cat-cave.

Patek Philippe watches are made in very small quantities. The rarest of them (such as the 'Grand Complications' model I've linked to) sell out quickly and then vastly increase in value. It's a bit like tickets for Glastonbury!
