New Series Coach Trip the road to Ibiza starts tonight 7.30pm on E4

This is another of those series where I am reminded how seriously out of touch I am with mainstream TV audiences - I cannot conceive of any circumstance in which I would spend more than thirty seconds watching this - that's the time it would take for me to realise it was on, find the remote, and point it at the TV!

The retirees have been good fun also the younger people who just want the experience. Some obviously hoped to use the show as a launch pad to fame and fortune but they were in the minority.

I do normally like Coach Trip, not sure about it just being young uns but will reserve judgement till I've seen it.

Hellywelly....people's expectations have been steadily lowered over the years, until this sort of thing is seen as entertainment............for me its just "idiot-porn"....... in the same way as all those programs about people on the dole are "poverty-porn.

If we want an example of "dumbing down" we need look no further than these type of programs.

But they easily avoided, thank goodness.

I would suggest that not watching it now, or regularly, is not the same as never having watched it.

Since the format is likely to remain constant, it's a reasonable assumption that similar types of personality are selected to meet the programmes appeal criteria - so its equally valid to venture an opinion on that basis.

The criteria has definitely changed for this latest series and I won't be watching any more.

Watched it just the same formula as the afternoon series but with more sun and exposure!!
