I love this prog. But if the island is a french ex-colony now a commonwealth one - so what was the dead man doing with sandwiches made from UK white sliced bread? They use baguettes out there surely? Also it is Jan now but the phone bills were dated for Feb 2017. Weird! Nice prog though!

It's filmed in Guadeloupe. I doubt very much that they would have shipped the bread out especially, so it's a fair bet that white sliced bread is commonly available there.

The supermarkets in Antigua, which is right next to Guadaloupe, are full of Waitrose branded products. They also have white sliced bread, not as exotic and different as you might think.

Telephone services are provided by Orange, and you pay for a package and line-rental in advance, so it's quite conceivable that the date shown on the bill will be later than the current date.
