Saw a film about the plight of the african americans and at the end a group of people sing a very sad song, the main singer is a big black woman. Its a beautiful song. Ive heard it sung in another movie, but I cant remember the title of the movie nor the song. Its about keeping ones faith and strength through adversity, I think! Ive tried to find it on google and cdzinc to no avail.

i believe it is a negro spirital song. trouble is, there are so many along that theme. Try..."Nobody knows the trouble i've seen, Glory Hallehluah". Or you could try bbc music and search for music from Porgy & Bess etc. They are all beautiful songs & so sad but never seems to shake their faith regardless of what they have endured in the past. I will search my music albums & reply if I discover the particular melody. Not much help I know.

Thankyou for your answer. The film i saw was not porgy and bess, but I can no longer remember the film, only the ending when the song is sung. I will follow your other suggestion. I tried looking up gospel and blues music on google but it is very difficult when i have no title. I thought it may have been thy rugged cross, but the versions i have tried do not sound as on this film.

thankyou again wvaleriechas
