What a brilliant piece of writing this current programme is. Tonight's episode promised a serious twist and boy did it deliver - right at the end. Cannot wait until next week. Is he dead or will he recover?

Very well written, very well produced and very well acted. A great, gritty drama - just what Sunday evenings were made for.

Don't see how he could survive that. It's great isn't it.
He has to survive. It is brilliant.
Hope he is still alive, I love his acting!
Don't know how he manages to cover up his Scottish accent with all those lines to speak (the actors in it call it Lines of Duty). I couldnae dae it!
His English accent is excellent. I believe he speaks in an English accent even when not filming so he doesn't slip back into a Scottish one.
Although Morven Christie was using her native Scottish accent in The Replacement, she has an impeccable English accent in Granchester, and could even do a completely convincing northern English accent in The A word recently. And some actors are the same in everything they're in!
She's not in this series, goodgoalie.

what was in before?
was he in
Dunno...but I've watched interviews where he speaks in his native Scottish accent.

Real edge of the seat watching, brilliant.
He played the killer in the three-part true story, In Plain Sight, set in Scotland. One of our better actors.
Martin Compston (Steve Arnott) was in an episode of Agatha Christie's Marple last year, where he used his real Scottish accent.

Up to that point, I'd only ever seen him in 'Line of Duty', and assuming he was from London, I actually said at the time that his Scottish accent was way off.

Egg all over my face.
Ooops.
As I said on the other thread just as it finished....."Blud Dee Hell. Brilliant story.
The fact that DS Arnot fell (conveniently maybe?) straight down between the flights of stairs - as opposed to being banged and buffeted by each flight bannister - may mean he survives. Certainly hope so.
I never realised it was him in 'In Plain Sight'. Thanks for that info Ken.
This is the first series of Line of Duty hat I have watched and I am totally gripped by it, brilliant acting and writing. I must watch the rest of catch up.
