....a visit to Stratford RSC to see a Plautine comedy focusing on eating, drinking and sex......

A combination of Shakespeare at his bawdiest and Carry on up the Forum...... I laughed 'til I hurt......and my cup ranneth over when a monkey approached me in my seat and winked seductively.....

The full title is......Vice Versa or The Decline and Fall of General Braggadocio at the Hands of his Canny Servant Dexter and Terrence the Monkey......a must see.....

And Stratford was beautiful........ :-)

I'm liking the sound of that play, gness.

Did you feed the swans on the river ?.

It doesn't seem like something that would appeal to me - but you seem to have enjoyed it. That is the important bit.

Good weather? Is this near to where you stay or did you have a long drive?
Sounds lovely Gness, I hope you didn't take the monkey home with you.
>>> comedy focusing on eating, drinking and sex ???

I'm surprised by that, Gness. I thought that you would have sought out something which took you away from your day-to-day life ;-)

It was a fantastic play, Tony........one of the best I've seen.....and no, didn't feed the swans.......I ate my picnic myself...and drank my wine....x

An hour and a bit, Wolf.....weather cheered by the minute and we picnicked by the marina....(that's not a car, Tony....it's where you park boats...)....and people watched......especially the rowers hitting the bridges and going around in circles....
It's not a play I would have chosen...it was recommended and and we took a punt on it...so glad we did.....it was a wonderful performance...x
Question Author
No, Marval......the monkey had to be back for the evening performance....and I think he has a wife.... :-(

Oh I guess I'm stuck in a rut, Chris..........but I think you've grasped the essence of the humour in the play...... ;-)

Ah so you were also hitting bridges and going around in circles ;-)
