Problem With Panasonic Viera And Remote

Bought a second remote for Panasonic Viera TV model TH 50PZ70B, from eBay, so hubby and I stop arguing over it. Not identical to original but very close, and worked perfectly. Suddenly after using for six months I only have to point this remote towards the TV, not even pressing any buttons, and the TV switches off, on, off again. Just taken batteries out of remote. So is the switching on and off a problem with the TV or is it the remote?? Tia.

sounds like a stuck button, got any wd40 spray it into on off button out of range of tv, give the button a few pushes, let the wd40 do its work, use an old cloth wipe off remote, try again

Thanks fender, we have now tried that with WD40 and wiggling all the buttons ... Soon as I put batteries back and hold towards TV it switches off again!!

If you have a digital camera you can point the remote at the lens and look at the camera screen - if the remote is transmitting you will see the light on the front of the remote flashing.

Hi bhg .. I cant see a light flashing on either of my remotes! I have tried pressing buttons at the same time. Its weird...

Just a thought ... Could I have pressed a button by mistake on the rogue remote to make it keep switching off the tv??

Sorry bhg ... I was doing it wrong ... The original remote flashes when I press a button... And the rogue remotes flashes all the time ...... Sorry ..

It looks like you've got a sticking buton on the rogue controller smurf and the chances are it's the on/off button. Have another go at freeing that one.

Thanks for the reply, just tried again particularly with on off switch. Looked through digital camera and white light on remote all the time, not even flashing...
