Wednesday. It's mild and quite pleasent outside. It can't last.

The ongoing saga of the contractors. I phoned my wee lassie at the council. She was disgusted with the contractor. She said she would phone the contractor. I asked her to get the contractor to phone me. A young lady from the contractor did phone, from what was said the boss wouldn't. I wonder why! She said they thought the work was already done, but from the way she said it, she knew that was not the case. I didn't rip into her, I wanted to rip into the boss. I've now got their phone number. I was promised that the wee men will be here at 0830 this morning. I will give them 15 minutes leeway, to allow for traffic etc. If they are not here their boss is going to get an army Sergeant type 'telling off'.

So I shall do my running around at 0730, and come back on when I get back.

Have a happy day everyone.

Morning, sounds like you're getting plenty of exercise from the run-around, hope it's sorted today. Sounds windy here, Norfolk, but doesn't feel as cold as at the weekend, I even contemplated closing the bedroom window. This is doing the old thing about stopping typing for no random reason, only happens on AB.
Wow, as you said, "no use giving the phone answer person a serve".

But, stick it right up the bosses clacker, no holds barred.

What a bunch of useless drongos.

Go get 'em Boaty...

Morning zebo xxx Nice to see you. :o} I like Norfolk, my Vera has relatives there.

My bedroom window is open all year round, it's only closed when I'm away.

The running around is usually done at a leisurely pace!

Afternoon oz. I'm confident they will be here this morning. No good going at them, they are the PBI, it's the boss I'm after!

All well in downsideupland today mate?
Hit the boss up big time.

The workers don't get much say in things.

All good down under thanks.

Had a customer arrive here today to check on the progress of their order. All finished.

They looked, they admired and then gave me an order for another three pieces.

Woo hoo, if this keeps up I'll never need a real job before I hit retirement age ;-)

I've got my fingers crossed.
Question Author
That's excellent mate. Just goes to show you know your stuff. Well done. :o}
I don't make "fine furniture", I work with aged timber.
I create what I can from it, not necessarily what the customer had in mind.
Rather what the timber dictates to me.
Question Author
That's all you can do with the materials you have. The photo's you've shown us show what you can do mate. That takes both skill and talent.
Question Author
Coffee time. Back in a tick.
Enjoy your coffee, when it's in your mug ;-)

I just love old and aged timber and try to showcase it how I can.

Some of the bits I've been working with were hand cut 100yrs ago, stood in a paddock all that time, weathering away. The trees were estimated to be 200 years old when they were cut down.

Show's how some natural products can stand the test of time..
Question Author
You're spot on there mate. On Selsey there are some bits of petrified tree that are a million years old.
And we all buy products in plastic packaging.

How long will that packaging pollute for?

Enough of me being a "greeny"
Question Author
I'm a greeny too mate. People can be so irresponsible. Just ditching plastic into the sea is a dangerous and idiotic practice. I can't remember where it is, but there is an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean that has sandy beaches, they are covered in plastic that has come from the sea. It should be a criminal offence, but policing it wouldn't be easy.
Question Author
Plastic packaging doesn't deteriorate, so it's there for ever.
Yep Boaty.
What someone discards washes to the ocean and ends up on someones doorstep.

"Be responsible for your waste products"
Question Author
Even worse, sea life gets entangled in it and usually die. That also applies to discarded fishing nets.
Morning all. It’s early for me, but seeing as I had my iPad to hand as I lay in me pit I thought I’d give you all a good morning. Taking the wife to the hospital this morning for her preassesment check up. Chemo Friday. She’s half way through her chemo this session. Have worked it out her last chemo end of Jan next year.

I know what you are going through, I went through it twice with my Vera.
1ozzy there was a program onBritish tele recently. No narrative just film. A elderly guy working from his shed making chairs. It was interesting. Him steaming wood so it could be bent. And him using old tools.
