Can't wait emmie, nice watch with a drink in hand.
or without, i shall be away so may well miss it, will have to do a catch up later on.
I was forced to read that book as a child. What a pile of cheap, sentimental, American rubbish.
don't think jack will be tuning in ...
its not sentimental at all, about a party of girls/ women growing up in the middle of a civil war..
Have regular hours for work and play; make each day both useful and pleasant, and prove that you understand the worth of time by employing it well. Then youth will be delightful, old age will bring few regrets, and life will become a beautiful success. Louisa May Alcott
I loved the book when I was a girl. Can't see many men liking it though.
Maybe they'll do 'Little Men' next?
I know the plot. That doesn't make it any less crap. I forget the name but one of the girls dies in childhood. You would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh out loud at the death-bed scene. Mind you, we have been just as guilty this side of the pond. Anyone ever read Jane Eyre? It's a hoot.
Jane Eye is one of my favourite books.. its not a hoot as you say, its quite heart rending..
Clearly I'm in a minority of one regarding sentimental 19C 'literature' so I'll leave you girls to get on with it.
Jane Eyre is my favourite book and I loved Little Women, Good Wives, Jo's Boys as a child! Classics.
Lot more than sentiment in those books. Great insight into character.
