Are the story lines suddenly being written by 10 year olds? In the last week we have had Charity leaving a charming ladylike deposit on the carpet of the house Debbie moved out of and what she did has been mentioned in every episode since. Last night Priya did a fart and a giggly story was made out of that. It's just the daft stuff kids find hilarious but after the first 6 times they say it, you get bored of hearing it. Not offensive, just silly and childish.

I agree with you, horselady. I was going to post a similar comment but you beat me to it. The vulgarity is unnecessary. We got the idea that Charity and Debbie had made a good job of trashing the house by breaking the windows etc. and as for Priya, that sequence was irrelevant.

I think the same writers must be in Eastenders too. We have had childish veiled references to masturbation, semen stains in clothing and women's personal hygiene. All in the name of "humour". Not funny, just silly.

I think that the nutty writers depicted at the beginning of Emmerdale are in fact the actual script writers.
