hi boys and gurlz - any Roman Cafflicks out there ?

Ghosn ( 'Goan') the accused Indian indicted in Japan has fled that country. In Japan, the guilt-finding process is indictment not the court hearing - 90% those indicted are convicted. So for him - the writing was on the wall

oh the question will be- did anyone connect a gregorian cello with gregorian chant?

so off Ghosn trots to Lebanon. and the news says he escaped in a music packing case. for a gregorian cello. they accompany people singing gregorian chant

only the problem is - they dont. It is a word phrase like Military intelligence (no) or postal service ( deffo no) or Beeb expert commentator ( ugh)

In films like The Lion in Winter - you know about henry VI and his eight wives - a bit of a bonk buster really - whenever there is an ancient church the back ground muzak goes like
mini mini mini - - mooni - munnaaaaaah
on and on it goes in ancient forrin. That is gregorian chant. 1973 we sang Credo III in a cappadocian rock church. The turks had no idea what we were doing.

and they never have a following orchestra when they rudge around the aisles or cloisters

no Gregorian cello and so no gregorian cello case and so Ghosn did it somehow else

oh my question changes to - - - Ghosn is he a telekinete?

The godless hackettes on the Been have only just realised this, cafflicks know this sort of thing and they had a bit on Radio 4 this am
KNown around the tenth century and said to be dictated by the angels to Pope gregory the great in the sixth ( like the Big Boppa only he was the big poppa) [ there is the Beeb for you]

I would say that there seems to be a lot of dictation in the sixth century - God to the prophet for the start - and that it dates from then ( 600 AD) - plainsong monotone, and no orchestra. Some say that it was the musical form BEFORE christianity and gives some idea of what they were doing in pre-Christian rtiuals. Cult of Isis and Bona Dea etc - eleusinian mysteries
And some say not. Thank you Mystic Meg

just thought I would say
well - it makes a different to the usual AB news q - Boris has two faces which one would you like to kiss most etc

The Lion In Winter was about Eleanor of Aquitane and her husband Henry 11. so i believe.
i'm googling well known cellists called gregory, i'll be back

Kara Milovy (played by Maryam d'Abo) was James Bond's "love interest" in "The Living Daylights". She played the cello in a concert orchestra but was also a KGB sniper assigned to prevent renegade General Georgi Koskov (Jeroen Krabbé) defecting to The West during the interval whilst watching a concert in Bratislava. Part of the plot sees Bond and the girl escape their KGB pursuers by using the case of her cello case as a sledge to cross the border into Austria. Do you think Mr Ghosn got the idea for his escape from the film?

Hi N
thankks everyone for reaching the bottom o the page and answering the question

one gregorian band coming up
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/dec/31/carlos-ghosn-escaped-japan-hiding-in-a-musical-instrument-case

and thank you that viewer for pointing out that Henry VI did NOT have eight wives - I admit that perhaps not every fact I present on AB is quite er truthful
but honestly so few people notice
and none is important

( gloss on Stanley Baldwin on being PM
you learn that not very much is important and almost nothing is very important
thank you for the second world war stanlleeeeeee!)

that is kiss my arriss in gaelic innit?
The Gregorian chants were comparatively, tuneful, interesting, easily assimilated, even a welcome respite from the everyday tribulations and nonsense of everyday living...............compared to Pepe Le Pew's garbles without marbles.

Hi Toag - pepe here

I didnt say he escaped in a gregorian cello case - the news did
and I didnt say what Gregorian chant was - radio 4 at 8 am did
and I didn't say it was first recorded in the 10th cenury - altho i think it was much earlier

I am just reporting and reflecting on the news - I am but a mirror to the horrors that occur around me

for chrissakes lighten up and stop being an old bagga

sorry boys and girls - the most off the wall answer goes to - - -
emmmmmmie!

none of the usual suspects and AB quipsters have one lined:
Ghosn - gone !
disappointed

and it was according to todays reports - a packing case no a cello case
spoil sports
but hey does that remind anyone of anything ?

Umaru Dikko - and he was a bit of one - was kidnapped and almost shipped abroad (back to his home een Nigeria) by the israeli Mossad in 1983

and the interesting bit was he was anaesthetised and intubated in the case (!!) I kid you nart
and IN the case they found him (OK), on ketamine, a monitor and an anesthetist (!) - the chief of critical care in Jerusalem (where he wasnt - he was in the case).
and HIS case for kidnap and nastiness at the old Bailey with a super short hearing because he pleaded GUILTY !
he was shut away but said to have been released out the back door!

the Krays ! Umaru Dikko kidnapping - life was so different in the eighties and er sixties

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dikko_affair

there was meant to be a quid pro quo
