Can anyone remember a British sit-com from the 70s or 80s, the only thing that I can really remember was that one of the main characters was a caretaker/janitor who always wore a brown smock overall. He was a smallish actor who had largish teeth/dentures.
Bit of a long shot I know.

Please Sir?

Are you being Served?
sounds like Arthur English in are you being served.
Grandad? That was a kids series.
Look up Derek Guyler, if he's your man, it was definitely Please Sir.
Yes, if Deryck Guyler is the man you want, he played Norman Potter in Please Sir., the grumpy caretaker.
Deryck Guyler. There's a blast from the past. Always remember him playing the washboard.
Derek Guyler was 5' 10" - is that considered small?
