.. 'The Christmas Chronicles'
I'm late to discovering Nigel. I've just bought this audio book & I absolutely love the way he passionately describes the seasons & ingredients in detail. Has anyone read this? I can see me probably working through his other books!
I haven't got that one, but I've accumulated most of his cookbooks over a 20 year period. He's my food idol. His autobiographical book is good too..."Toast"...and also "Eating for England ", a fascinating ramble through our favourite foods.
I recommend anything by him.
Hi pasta! x
I cant believe I've missed his books, heard of him of course but never read his stuff. So enjoying reading this book. Yes I googled his other titles, I'll certainly be adding them to my collection. It's been nice to sit & listen with a coffee pasta.
I've never gotten into audio books. My mind wanders enough with reading even though I'm better remembering what I see rather than hear.
I hope you enjoy his books...and it should be easy to find second hand ones on Amazon. Xx
I remember seeing Toast on tv, it was fascinating.
I used to think his cooking was a bit too pernickity for me but actually I now really enjoy his cookery programmes. And his quiet thoughtful approach.
I like the way he often uses home-grown or seasonal produce and also tries to support local shops - that may be because he lives in a nice area of London with good greengrocers, butchers, and delis!
