No. It used to be called Empire Day and was held on 24th May, Queen Victoria's birthday. We used to go to school in the morning with paper flags, sing patriotic songs in the schoolyard, then get the afternoon off. Happy days. It stopped around 1959.

No, I find the whole notion of the Commonwealth inappropraite now. Like Jackdaw's Empire celebrations, this ceremony should have stopped in 1959 too.
