Ooooh A Mini Rant On Its Way

My wheelie bin was full but the lid shuts and it’s due to be emptied as we speak,I had some cardboard to take and this is up beside a block of garages that they insist all bins must be put ( we are pedestrian only here)
When I took my cardboard up someone had filled my bin with A) Gin bottles, I don’t drink it B) empty blue top milk bottles x6 , we do green and a lot more stuff, the lid was gaping open so I know the collectors refuse to take them like thst so I’ve stood and put all of the stuff back in the CLOSED adjoining bin after checking there was empty bottles of Gin and empty plastic bottles of tonic in it, cheeky sods!!!
Now that feels better ,phew!!

My bin is very rarely full to the top and the family of five lower down obviously have way more rubbish than me. Once they put some of their rubbish in my bin and the lid wouldn't shut, I knew the binmen wouldn't take it, so I took the bin bag out and put it back outside their back gate ! Since then I only put my bin out when I can hear the bin wagon coming ! I wouldn't mind them using my bin when the rubbish is being collected, but it's a bit rich to put so much in that the lid won't shut.
Happened once to my daughter, Bobbi. Came home to find hers was the only bin not emptied as someone had overfilled it with their rubbish after she left for work.
Big pair of gloves and disinfectant on standby she searched the rubbish and found evidence pointing to the culprit. She bagged it all up and took it a few doors along and with a smile and a polite..yours I think...returned it to them.

Helpful binmen must be a regional thing. I've never heard the lid has to be closed. We don't make enough black bag rubbish to get anywhere near the top but the recycling is often so full you can't shut the lid and you can also lean flattened cardboard or overflow cardboard boxes filled with recycling against the bin too. It always gets taken.
We have a milkman, gromit. He delivers in glass bottles 3 times per week. His round has increased immeasurably in the last 2 years. He also delivers various cream products, bread, orange juice and a few basic cheeses amongst other basics. A jewel and a necessity in a country area. A bonus is that all are local products. :)
