I ask because my wife, who has a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, just had a message from Vodafone to say something like....
Your phone is not 4G and as from 2023 Vodafone are not providing 3G for calls and you will only get 3G for data and 2G for calls - so you will need a phone that accepts 4G!
I looked on her phone settings under Vodafone and it does not show 4G (like my own model XA1) but does say in the list it is LTE. She has Android 6.0 if that means anything?
According to this piece https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/4g-vs-lte/ LTE is 3G with improved speed, so it looks as though she will have to either get a 4G phone later this year or live with the reduced functionality of 2G.

I cannot get 5G myself from Vodafone in this area of Shropshire. I have had vfone for years and I do get a superb signal here and elswhere when I travel including it works perfectly in Greece
Thanks
Moggie
