Oopsie

Oh bless him what a sweet memory to have made allbeit unintentionally.

He didn't forget her. He just didn't want to give her away to the weepy wimp waiting at the other end of the aisle.

Pressure happens! :)  This Summer I was playing the organ at a friend's funeral (she was 96 , a stalwart of the W I  and was at that conference in London leading the slow hand-clap of Tony Blair when he ran over his time).

OH was page-turner on 'Jerusalem'.  We'd practised and practised.  He had to grasp the corner of the page on 'Bring me my Bow' and turn it on 'burning'.

In the event - he bottled it (the church was full, spilling out over 140 people) I was playing the entr'-act and no hand appeared , panic set in. He just stood there - at the very last moment I reached for the paper - only just beating him as he woke up and fumbled towards the book!  Fortunately I kept the R-hand tune going for a couple of bars and got back on track with few noticing,  Phew!

But under pressure - all sorts of things can get forgotten.  :)
