Connecting a Playstation Through a Digital Box?
6 Answers
Hi
I've recently connected a Philips DTX-6370 Terrestrial Digital Box to my Fujitsu PDS-4203 Plasma Screen.
I connected the two via a Scart cable. (Scart outputting from Digital Box, then inputs into the Plasma are BNC coaxial {1 x Video input and 2 x Audio Inputs}) I've got the Audio leads, from the Scart connected to the digital box, going through my DVD players in-built amp.
I've used the supplied RFU Adapter from my Playstation (Original Playstation) and plugged that in the Aerial socket of the Digital Box and plugged the aerial into the adapter (as stated in the instructions).
When I turn the Playstation on the screen is blank! There is no sound either.
Can anyone suggest why this is or how I can make it work?
The screen has an Analog RGB-mD-SUB 15 pin input also and Component Video Inputs (My S-Video connection is being used by my DVD). Is it possible to get a cable for the Playstation which will connect through these inputs?
I'm a bit of a novice at this (although not completely) and this has got me stumped. Is the Playstation not compatible with the Plasma or Digi Box?
HELP!!!!!
Thanks in advance
Marc

You can buy a lead from the PS2 that splits the signal in to Component Video and L/R sound - yellow / red / white holes. if so use it through this. If you try and run it via your video then through your digi box i think it will get confused.as each box has to be to aux for a signal. If you can - go direct to the TV else go direct from your video to TV. Leave all the other connections out of the way for now and get this signal first. Then connect them one by one. - hope it helps. or failing that if your TV has a scart socket buy a phono to scart coverter. this will allow you to plug the Component Video Inputs and your s-video (good choice for the DVD btw) in to one scart socket. you can get all this stuff from www.gadgetsuk.com/avequip.htm get the Universal AV/S-Video Cable 3in1 (PS/PS2/N64/GC/XBox) and Scart Adaptor and this should allow u to do the job .
Nice one!!! However. Will the cable definately work through the Component Input on the Plasma? I've currently got the Digibox going through the Composite Video Input of the Plasma. Are you sure this cable will work in the Component Input? If so, would the cable on this site do the job>>> http://www.netpcdirect.co.uk/accessories.php
Hi again. As long as you got the same connections (yellow, red & white on your TV) the Playstation Phone Lead from your site should work (would say WILL but you may sue me!!) 99.999% sure - i can see no reason why not i got my ps connected to my tv with this cable with the DVD connected by S-Video next to it. Or if you are a bit nervous get the s-video lead connection. You know this connection works by the DVD player and you can just swap them around. but yeah same cables. its a 30 sec job to swap them around so your viewing / playing pleasure will not be ruined!. you can also get the cable from dixons / comet / currys its a standard lead. let me know how u get on!
