I spent the episode thinking how Little David was cleverly cast as he looked like Dave, so wasn't surprised to see that he was actually Craig Cash's son in real life!

My only complaint is that it seemed a little rushed..I would have preferred a couple of episodes with more detail.
What happened to Anthonys missus, Emma?
I adored the segment with Jim & Norma (Nana) larking about on the walking frame & stairlift, especially as it was after his ranting about the remote control! it was great to see Denise finally settling into motherhood and being a bit more responsible..I had to laugh at the bit where she wanted to leave little David for the weekend (I can relate...lol). I found the series where she just had baby David hard going at times so it was pleasant to see her being mummy :o)
Touching moments? the farewells, obviously...Jim crying, 'Que Sera' segment, Twiggy calling Cheryl a 'belter'....Denise handing her new daughter to Nana...
Yes I wept!

I adored it! I laughed until I ached because it is so well observed.
The whole point about brilliant comedy - a fact grasped by John Cleese, Tony Hancock, David Renwick and of course Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash - is that laughter is a fraction away from tears, and if you balance it right, you can switch from one to the other in a moment. That was the genius of last night - that Jim could rant and rave about something trivial that Norma had done, and then cry his eyes out when she died. Similarly, the exchange between Norma and Barbara. These are northern folk who find it hard to say what they feel, and express thjeir love for each other, but that was a mother / daughter moment, it was so pognant - then back to the humour.
One of the best things I've seen for ages!
