TV series called going out?

hi does anybody remember a tv series from the early eighties called going out i cant remember who was in it but i remember a guy called dikey in it and i think it was about a gang of teenagers. i loved the prog when i was a kid im sure i didnt imagine it. I would love it repeated.

No you didn't imagine it ....It was produced by Southern Tv and was on lateish . One of Phil Redman's early productions. (he of Grange Hill/Brookside etc fame

Yes, I found it quite compelling. It was in 1981/2 I think. Quite distinctive for its time. The bloke who played Dikey also played Carmody in the BBC adaptation of The History Man.

There was a girl with short dark hair, and serious braces on her teeth.
