After Thomas

There was a drama on bbc/itv on boxing day called after thomas, can anybody tell me how it ended.

It ended with the little boy telling his mum that he loved her. Quite emotional really as his mother had craved some recognition from her son. At the end there was a message on the screen saying that boy was now 17 and at college. The dog had to be put down shortly sfter the drama had been filmed and had died in the boy's arms.
