Cheepo wine or what?

I thought money was no object within the walls of Home Farm on Emmerdale. Until I saw Rosemary King (Linda Thorson) and Carrie Nicholls ( Linda Lusardi) sharing a bottle of wine or two. It must have been cheap plonk because it came in screw topped wine bottles.

Screw top is the new "cork" apparently and not restricted to cheapo wines.

Thank you for your answers. Yes after doing a little reseach into the subject, I find this is true I'm afraid.

Call me a snob, but the screw cap, just does not convey quite the right immage, it just does not look right., What better than removing the foil, using all those different types of corkscrews, pulling the cork, hearing that thirst provoking screech of cork on glass, then the plop as the cork realeases itself from the bottle, and then holding the cork up to one's nose to sniff the aroma.

Oh dear I think I will now have to open another bottle (the cork type obviously).
